The following measures are being taken to promote Science, Technology and Mathematics in KV BARRACKPORE AFS:-
1. Formation of Innovation cell in the school in the guidance of principal sir and all science and maths teacher as per the norms of Ministry of Education, Government of India. The students of classes 9th to 12th are the members of Innovation cell. Innovation cell meeting is held every month in Physics lab.
2. 55 students of class 9th have participated in YUVIKA-2024 programme organised by ISRO.
3. Large numbers of students are participating in the school level science and maths exhibition under RBVP/JNNSMEE organised by NCERT.
4. Large numbers of students are participating in the school level National Children Science Congress.
5. Activity based teaching by science and maths teacher in the class in all classes.
6. Regular science quizzes under CCA activities.
7. The suggestions of science and maths subject committee are being implemented and followed to increase the scientific temper among students.
8. Under JIGYASA programme we take children from classes 9 to 12 to the CSIR laboratory or lab visit so that they develop their scientific temper and research aptitude.
9. We organise INSPIRE MANAK AWARD competition in school level for the students of classes 6 to 10 every year as per the direction of KVS and DST and we select the best ideas and then we send them to compete from all over the country.
10. Sometimes we invite Air Force technical officials to motivate students.
